No vacation is complete without some outdoor recreation and a place to unwind and relax. Wyoming is the ideal place to do all of this in the fresh, open country range. Here at the Cody KOA, you can set your own pace or let our knowledgeable staff arrange something for you - from a Yellowstone tour, rafting adventure, or world-class fly fishing expedition, to the excitement of the Cody Stampede Rodeo. On-site, we also offer a full schedule of planned activities including games, crafts and entertainment for the entire family.
Yellowstone National Park Tour If Yellowstone is in your plans, enjoy the guided tour leaving directly from the campground. Leave your RV at the campground and explore Yellowstone on your own or catch the bus for a relaxed, guided tour of the nation’s first and most spectacular national park. Ribbons of roads will lead you through awe-inspiring landscape to the ancient mysteries of the geysers and paint pots.
Rafting Tour We can also book your white water rafting tours. Float down a calm stream or conquer outrageous rapids, either way you’ll enjoy a raft full of fun and beautiful scenery. Our staff at the Cody KOA can hook you up with the most experienced rafting company in the area. Half day and full-day trips are available.
Fishing You won’t be exaggerating when you experience the world-class fly-fishing available in Yellowstone country – Browns, Cutthroats, Rainbows, and Brooks. Hundreds of miles of trout streams. No kidding! Ask our staff for licensing and regulation information.
Free shuttle to Cody Stampede Rodeo Every day from June 1 to August 31 the best cowboys and cowgirls across the nation come to Cody to win big purses and to compete amongst the best. This is a great rodeo to watch, full of fun and excitement and tough competition in bull riding, bareback, calf roping, and steer wrestling. Tickets can be bought on the campground.
Buffalo Bill Historical Center Located in the city of Cody, Buffalo Bill comes to life at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Before he was 30, Buffalo Bill Cody rode for the Pony Express, scouted for the US Army, hunted buffalo, guided royalty on big game hunting trips, fought in the Civil War and starred on the American stage. The Buffalo Bill Center houses 5 unique museums including the Buffalo Bill Museum, the Whitney Gallery of Western Art, the Plains Indian Museum, Cody Firearms Museum and the Draper Museum of Natural History.
On-site, you can cool off in the pool, challenge friends or family to a game of basketball, horseshoes or bounce on the Jumping Pillow. Hang out in the playing arcade games, shooting pool and watching movies on the large-screen TV, or rent banana bikes and chopper bikes for a joy ride around the campground. You can create s’mores, join in a sing-along, or relax under the stars with a campfire.
We offer the following on-site activities:
Swimming in our family pool complex This is family fun for all ages in a large heated pool and hot tub, as well as a wading area for children with spray fountains.
Playing horseshoes You’ll learn how to relax under the sun like the cowboys by playing horseshoes, throwing one horseshoe around a stake planted about 10 ft ahead.
Bike rentals You can rent a bike for yourself and ride through the campground as you get some exercise in the fresh Wyoming air.
Bingo Every Thursday night at 8 p.m. we play this classic game. Bring the family and win fun prizes!
Jumping Pillow This large, inflatable jumping structure is shaped like a pillow and perfect for those kids that like to jump on the bed. It’s safe and fun for all ages.
Giant checkers and chess set Contemplate your next move with a chess piece that’s 2 ½ ft. tall. Maneuvering these giant game pieces is fun for the whole family.
Ice cream social Every Saturday evening you can join us at our homemade ice cream social.
Smore’s Every Friday night the campfire glows as marshmallows are toasted. Try a new twist on an old classic when the staff brings out an assortment of fillings. Instead of milk chocolate be adventuresome and try peanut butter cups. For a gourmet treat, add strawberries to the traditional chocolate and marshmallows. Make up your own, it could become the new classic!
When your Yellowstone vacation is over, you will have fond memories of spending time with your family at our campground and moments to laugh about until your next trip!
